ROBOTS ARE TAKING OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello people today we will talk about something that been around for a little while robots. People have been talking about robots for a long time its said that Leonardo DaVince had talked about a machine that looked and acted like a human. Nobody knows if he ever built this machine.

When you usually think of robots you think of a movie where a mad scientist makes a robot and then it gets smarter and takes over or a robot comes from space and tries to destroy humanity. And this is one of the reasons I think robotics isn't advancing like it should because people think that they will take over the world.

Robots do alot of good for us they can build thing faster and better than us. They can also go places we cant go like the bottom of the sea or to a far planet in space. Like the Mars rover it roves around Mars but we cant send humans there because theres no way to bring enough food and water so we send a robot because they don't need food or water. And with robots we can learn way more stuff but without them we would hardly know anything.

When you think of robots you usually think of something computerized and mechanical but there are other types like soft bodied air pumped robots. That are made out of some kind of gel and how it works is it has tubes connected to it that pump air to different sections to let it move.  Click here and here

My Fav Elements

Today I am going to talk about some of my favorite elements.
CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOME ELEMENTS MAY BE VARY DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!

Mercury

So first I'm going to start with my favorite Mercury it is the only metal that is liquid at room temperature. Mercury was and still used in thermometers and thermostats. Even though mercury is a liquid it can turn solid when frozen. But it freezes at -40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Polonium

Next is polonium it was discovered by a polish scientist named Marie Sklodowska Curie in 1898. Polonium is a radioactive foil that is used in antistatic brushes, spinthariscopes, and spark plugs. Polonium does sorta expire. Like in the anti static brushes they had expiration dates.

Titanium

Titanium was discovered by Reverend William Gregor in 1791 and named it after the greek titans. Titanium is used in lots of tools, knifes, and airplane parts. Titanium is great for lots of stuff because it is very strong and very light.

Americium

Americium was discovered by Glenn T. Seaborg, Ralph A. James, Leon O. Morgan and Albert Ghiorso in 1944. The only real use for americium is in smoke detectors they detect the smoke. Besides that their is really no use for it.

9/11

Hey today we will be talking about something very sad 9/11. I'm sure allot of us know what 9/11 is all of us were alive when it happened. Well what happened is that 4 planes were hijacked two of them flew into the twin towers the first plane hit the north tower at 8:45 a.m. the second one hit at 9:03 a.m

At 9:37 a.m. the third plane crashed into the pentagon then at 10:03 a.m. the fourth plane crashes into a field in Pennsylvania.

Since 9/11 we've been way more cautious and have way tighter airport security. I think in the future people will look back at this and remember all the people that died and how we fought. There aren't many good things about 9/11 but one of the best things about it is that when it happened we all came together.

Democritus Vs. Aristotle

Democritus

Democritus was a Greek philosopher who started research on atoms and matter 2400 years ago. His theory was matter could not be divided forever eventually you would be at the smallest piece possible. And his theory was ignored for 2000 years because of Aristotle's theory.

This is what they thought the atom looked like

Aristotle

Aristotle believed in the four elements. Earth, water, fire, and air and he  showed this by burning a log. The log is earth the fire is fire and the smoke is air and he put the fire out with water. And the people back then believed him because  it was easier to understand and they could see it with there own eyes.

Atoms!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Atoms are basically matter which makes up everyday objects. A desk, the air, even we are made up of atoms but the atoms are so small we cant see them. An atoms nucleus is made up of protons and neutrons and there is one neutron for every proton. There isnt always a proton for each neutron  so the the atam becomes either more positive or negetive. There are also electrons that cant get in the nucleus because the protons and neutrons wont let them in. But the electrons stay outside the nucleus running around. Electrons can also be traded or kidnapped.

An atom bomb works by causing a nuclear chain reaction which releases a huge amount of energy. An atom bomb is millions or billions of times more powerful than TNT. The first atomic explosion was on 16 July 1945 at the Alamogordo Test Range in New Mexico.

An Atom bomb works B splitting atoms like in these bombs threy used uranium and plutoniumDuring WWII the US started using the atomic bomb. On August 6, 1945, less than a month after its first testing, an atomic bomb named Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima,Japan. "Little Boy" killed as many as 100,000 people that day.

Little Boy

After Hiroshima  a second bomb called Fat Man was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan three days later on August 9th it killed about 40,000 more people. Because of the atom bomb Japan surrendered to the U.S. on August 14th. Those were the only times since that any nuclear weapons had been used in a conflict between nations.

WOODWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So during the summer I went to a summer camp named Woodward at Copper wich is in Copper,Co its near Vail if you know where that is.
I went there for two week's the first week I was snowboarding and the second week i was skateboarding. So when i got there had a 4 hour fligh and a 2 hour drive but once i was there i checked in an they gave me my room key my id and my elevator key. Then I put my stuff in my room and the skateboarded to the cage wich is there super cool store that has a mini bowl, MAC'S,gutiar hero, and a super big bean bag chair.

We hung out there for about an hour the we went to one of the best places on earth THE BARN which is a really big barn with flybed trampolines that make you jump so high a tumble track, spring floor, three foam pits,a giant bowl a mini ramp,a micro mini ramp, snowboard/ski rails and boxes, a snowboard and skateboard cliff drop into a foam pit,and a huge jump. Yea its a mouthful but you never get bored.

Now on to snowboarding on real snow so u take this bus from The Edge (the place were you sleep) to the top of the mountain were there are three different sections one with a big jump some rails and boxes. The other on has some smaller rails and boxes and some smaller jumps. The third has an air bag which is so much fun.
Then in the second week i was skateboarding so everyday we would get in the van and go to a bunch of different skateparks and skated all day. BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rabies!!!!!!!

OUCH  I just got bit by a squirrel I hope i don't have rabies. O right some of you might not know what rabies is. Rabies is a deadly virus that is mainly spread by infected animals. Rabies is spread by infected saliva entering through a bite or broken skin. The virus travels from the bite to the brain where it causes swelling.

Some of the symptoms are:

  • Anxiety, stress, and tension
  • Drooling
  • Convulsions
  • Exaggerated sensation at the bite site
  • Excitability
  • Loss of feeling in an area of the body
  • Loss of muscle function
  • Low-grade fever (102 degrees F or lower)
  • Muscle spasms
  • Numbness and tingling
  • Pain at the site of the bite
  • Restlessness
  • Swallowing difficulty (drinking causes spasms of the voicebox)

If you get infected with rabies and dont get treated it can lead to a coma or death. But if you get the rabies vaccine in rare cases some people can have an allergic reaction. More than 50,000 people die in the U.S. from rabies each year and the majority of them are kids.
